yes but if you get Westfield to modify the steering column they put a fixed UJ at both ends which makes it impossible to get the boot on. When I had mine modified the 2nd time (due to Westfield making it the wrong length the 1st time) I got them to put a spline and used a bolt on UJ. In that way I could re-use the boot.

I think I'll try to do something similar to Frank's setup - and try to build an aluminum shield to isolate the airfilter from the post-radiator air. obtaining a bit of silicone intake tub shouldn't be hard - but what about retaining the air fittings there? any advice?

Had to do something waiting for spring, so I purchased a used IC and made some brackets to hold it in place. I took measures for some pipes and hoses, now I'm just waiting for delivery to finish the job.

This is my setup which is very similar to Frank's, but likewise I think I will probably be putting a plate above the radiator to try and separate the hot and cold air.

You could also try something simlar to in this thread

My setup is better, but not ideal either. I'm sucking up hot air from the radiator .
It shouldn't be too hard to install a shield between radiator and filter though.

Matthew, your setup looks optimally designed to suck up hot air from the exhaust manifold - not good. Frank's setup looks much better.

Hello Steve,

good luck with your build. My donor was a Jan 1998 1.6 which I assume will be the same as yours. Like Mark says the best thing is to wait till you have the diff and engine/transmission in place and measure before getting the propshaft modified. I didn't and had to have it changed again later. For me the "1.8 diff" measurements from the manual were right for my 1.6 but there is a bit of variation depending on the adjustment of the engine mountings (you will find the pre-drilled holes in the chassis are not quite right). See here: http://westiebuild.blogspot.com/2009/07/propshaft-shortening-again.html and here: http://westiebuild.blogspot.com/2009/07/propshaft-length-complete-story.html

Also, don't get the steering column modified until you have it in place and measured. Something I also had to get changed for a 2nd time.
see here: http://westiebuild.blogspot.com/2009/10/steering-column.html and here: http://westiebuild.blogspot.com/2010/02/steering-column-some-pictures.html

Radiator went on yesterday, fan will go in as soon as the proper rivnuts are procured. Right now I'm trying to figure out the intake. Since our donor came with a K&N filter instead of the airbox, the current configuration has the intake sitting right next to the exhaust manifold - not exactly a prime location, methinks. I've found one or two interesting workarounds, but does anyone have any suggestions? As we've the FW nose, I'd like to use the intake ducts on the sides.
